Where are All of the American Workers?

Does anyone know what Americans are doing for a living nowadays? The reason I’m asking is that recent immigrants are literally taking over various sectors of the economy.

Over the last 30 years, immigrants from India have taken control of the computer software and services industry. Everywhere I look, they are the majority of workers and business owners in this field.

Immigrants from Mexico seem to have taken over much of the residential construction industry. They also dominate landscaping and housekeeping businesses.

Filipino nurses have been flooding into the country for some time. The Philippines was smart to align their nursing programs with U.S. standards. They are reaping the benefits. But my daughter with a 3.8 GPA can't get accepted into a nursing program at a local college.

The latest trend is importing teachers from the Philippines. I didn’t even know this was possible, given teacher certification requirements.

Even most of the Uber drivers that I run into are immigrants.

Now, police departments, like the LAPD are recruiting ILLEGAL immigrants. And there is a push to recruit ILLEGAL immigrants into the military.

My wife is an immigrant, as was my mom and both of my dad’s parents. I am pro-immigration. But I don’t understand what Americans are doing for a living. Is everyone just collecting a government check while trying to be a “social media influencer”???

We know that the public schools are not graduating kids with the math and science knowledge to succeed. We also know that a lot of young people take a dim view of learning a skilled trade. These are both huge problems that must be fixed. If they aren’t, it will lead to social resentment, disunity, and upheaval as people of all races who were born and raised in America are locked out of economic opportunities in their own country.
